Since 2007
Electromix Records is an electronic music label founded in 2007 by Alexandre Auger.
It starts with a departure. In 2007, Alexandre Auger leaves radio, two years after crossing paths with Denis Ladegaillerie, founder of Believe (distributor of the Electromix catalogue since 2007, also on Spotify and Deezer), and walks away with a significant sum: the seed capital of Electromix Records. Sudden as the move may look, the ground was already prepared — he had a musical foundation, an audiovisual school behind him, where he learned to produce and to mix, then training completed in audio studios. Electronic music was therefore no calculation, but a matter of taste: it was the music he loved.
The rest was written through encounters. Yane Solöne first, then others in his wake: one artist, two, three, and so on until 2012. That year, however, everything stopped. Personal reasons, which he recounts elsewhere, and a new company took Alexandre Auger away from the studio. Music moved to the background without ever quite disappearing; it waited for the rest to settle.
It came back under the name Komby Dot IO. On the strength of komby.io, the technology company, he decided to bring his two fields together — technology on one side, techno and house on the other — making Komby Dot IO not a single artist but a collective: the aim is to bring together a selection of DJs from the current scene, able to carry the brand.
That leaves the question no one avoids any more: artificial intelligence. Here, the label prefers clarity to ambiguity. No track is fully generated by AI, because a track always begins elsewhere — with an intent, arrangement choices, a mix, which is to say production work done by people. AI comes afterwards, not as author but as tool, on the same footing as the rest of the studio; and it is already there, since most production software now includes it, so claiming to avoid it would be dishonest. Which is why bringing technology and music together is not opportunism: the label is not arriving in electronic music on the back of a trend, it has been working in it since 2007 and is simply picking up the thread where it left off.
These days AI is everywhere. So let's be clear. The website and domain were acquired in 2026 — no one hides that. The catalogue cannot be bought: these are the label's releases since 2007.
komby.io is indeed a technology company, and AI has a real place there. It runs through the whole ecosystem, as far as DJ software that generates tracks with Suno or Onyx IA. But the tool is not the craft. And komby.io, the company, is not Komby Dot IO, the DJ collective. Being a professional is not about taking the easy road.
None of this has to be taken on trust: the catalogue is listed release by release on Discogs, the independent database kept by collectors, where the original pressings and their catalogue numbers can be found.
"Do not pray for an easy life."
In other words: the easy road leads to ruin.
